FAQ

Q. Why doesn't the Look book link directly to my personal website eCatalog?

A. On the basic Digital Business Card the "fake" Look book is connected to a page that offers a link to the pdf version of the Look book on marykay.com. Having this page allows mkunitapps to change this page each time the Look book changes, rather than having to go into every app and change the address on each one. The link changes each time the company updates the Look book. However, you have the option to have it linked directly to your eCatalog on your website by ordering it each quarter at our online store.

Q.  The link to the Look book worked yesterday, but it isn't working now. Why is that? Do I have a broken link?

A.  If it was working and now it isn't, it is probably because the company is having issues with their website. They are wokring on all their websites and they are sometimes down for maintenance. Give it a little while to see if it starts working again.  Check to see if the company websites are working on your computer. If it is a major maintenance upgrade, the company normally notifies you in advance. If you've checked all these things, then contact us so we can check into it.

Q. How do I get my Digital Business Card out to my customers?

A. Here are some ideas:
You can email the address out to your customers and hope that they open the email in their phone. Or you can text it to them and hope they know what to do with it. But the best way, in our opinion, is to text it to them when you're with them, so that when it dings on their phone, you have them open it and help them add it to their home screen. You can do that during a delivery, a facial, or at a party.

Promote it on your Facebook or Instagram page.  Take a screen capture of your app and upload it with the link.

While out in public meeting new people, ask if you can text your business card to them and then help them download it instantly.  If they ask you for a catalog, text them your app!  Not only do they have your catalog, but your entire business right at their fingertips!

Make labels and attach them to the back of your current paper business cards.  That way when leaving a business card somewhere or putting them in samples, your app is right there as well!

During a facial or skin care class, have the guests download the app.  Maybe even consider offering $1 off of their purchase if they do so right then.

Utilize the Special Offers feature.  This can potentially be a wonderful tool to keep your customers coming back to your app!  Everyone likes a good deal, and if they know that every month they can check out the product of the month and possibly receive 15% (or a discount of your choosing) on their favorite products, they’re going to be checking your app.  You can also add extra coupons or advertise open houses on your app.  So tell them to keep checking back for current offers or special messages!

Q. What do I need to know to make sure my app works correctly.

A.  When giving out your app URL (or address) to someone, make sure you type it correctly. Notice the lowercase name: Correct:  www.mkunitapp.com/susieq  Incorrect: www.mkunitapp.com/Susieq. Make sure your name is lower case. Sometimes a phone's autocorrect will capitalize the name and then the link won't work.

The Map It! feature uses Google maps. You may be prompted to add the Google map app to your mobile device. You'll want to install that app so that the Map It feature works.
